Gene votes have weights. W and X weigh 1.0 each. G, Y, H weigh 0.6 each. Your center plant's gene acts as a defender — donors only change it if they beat its weight.
If your center has W (1.0), two G donors = 0.6+0.6 = 1.2. Barely beats it. Very fragile. One wrong donor gene and it fails.
This is why you don't try to flip red to green. You find a plant that already has green in that slot naturally, and use the method to LOCK that green in.
1. Farm seeds until you find a plant with G or Y naturally in the slot you want.
2. Put that plant in the center. Use copies + 2 donors to lock in that green gene.
3. Clone the result. Repeat for the next slot.
3 copies of your own plant surround it. Each copy votes for ALL your existing genes. This outvotes any donor noise in slots you're not targeting.
Plant targets first. Wait for saplings. Then plant donors. Donors grow faster — the gap creates a timing buffer so everything crossbreeds together perfectly.
50% per attempt. Run 2-3 identical boxes staggered by a few minutes. When one fails, the next is already mid-cycle.
G = faster harvest cycle. Y = more berries per harvest. Pick your priority — the tool will target that gene in every slot.
